Read it

reading brailleUnfortunately, not everybody can read books, perhaps because they are blind or because they have never been taught to read.

But even blind people can be helped to read, sometimes using a special printing process called braille. And although learning to read usually happens at school, older people too can be taught to read, even if they are blind.

But not everbody likes reading. Faced with a big book like the Bible, with unusual words and phrases, many people don't get very far and need help with their reading. Having some helpful notes to read when faced with difficult passages makes reading easier and more interesting.

Knowing your way round the Bible is a good place to start. Then it helps to to follow a plan, rather than read the Bible in the same way you might read a long story. You need the right tools for the job if you are going to get very far reading the Bible and get the best out of what you read.

But even if you feel daunted by the task, like someone learning braille, start reading the Bible now with these tools to help you. It may be difficult at first, but feel your way slowly and enjoy what you read!

And sometimes you will need help from people who have read it many times before and have written about what they found.
