Before you start, you might find this article helpful. For many people, reading the Bible is a new experience, so it's useful to have a few pointers to some of the basic facts about the Bibe's content and layout.
Then come back here and choose some toold to help you start reading the Bible for yourself.
This is a reading plan that you can use, with daily portions of the Bible selected for you to read, together with accompanying notes about the portion you are reading.
The plan with its notes (in Microsoft Word format) can be printed out. The Notebook is quite long, so to make it easier to print it has been divided into four parts. There is also a Bible Reading Planner to print out (see below), showing you the chapters to be read each day during the year.
Notebook volume 1 (weeks 1 to 10) [307kb]
Notebook volume 2 (weeks 11 to 26) [363kb]
Notebook volume 3 (weeks 27 to 40) [405kb]
Notebook volume 4 (weeks 41 to 52) [581kb]

Unlike the Bible Reading Notebook, this Companion for Bible reading covers all the Bible, not just selected chapters.
For each day during the year, several chapters are selected for reading, from both the Old and the New Testament. When completed, the whole of the Old Testament will have been read once during the year and the New Testament twice.
There are no notes to accompany this reading plan. But by using the Companion each of the 66 books in the Bible is read, chapter by chapter, which gives a clear picture of the contents of each book.
The Companion (in Microsoft Word format) can be printed out onto seven A4 sheets:

Sometimes when you are reading the Bible you come across unfamiliar words and concepts. This is to be expected as even the early Christian believers, as well as the disciples of Jesus himself, needed help understanding what they were hearing and reading.
To help make learning easier, there are many Factsheets to download. Each Factsheet covers a particular word or concept, pointing out the verses in the Bible that help to explain just what the Bible teaches. Here are some of the subjects covered by Factsheets:
| Angels | Baptism | Devil |
| Gospel | Hell | Kingdom |
| Mortality | Promises | Repentance |
| Resurrection | Soul | Trinity |
This illustrated, full-colour Bible-based magazine is published six times a year. It includes articles on various subjects (eg Israel) and includes numerous Bible references.
